Hopkins Collaborates

  • Phoenix Chinese Dance

Chinese dance includes three categories: classical, folk and contemporary. Jumping, spinning and flipping are the three fundamental skills of Chinese dance, which are inherited from opera and martial arts and have unique national characteristics. The body rhyme of classical dance is a combination of body position and movement rhythm, and the integration of movements, breath and demeanor becomes the essence of classical dance. The fundamental skills training of Chinese dance also draws from the training system of ballet, which is why excellent Chinese dancers not only have the elegant temperament of a ballerina, but also can express the rich connotation and beauty of Chinese dance.

  • Hong De Wu Guan Tai Chi

Caiyun Zhou and her husband had a Kungfu school from 2009-2019, teaching Kungfu, Taichi, and Lion Dance. The school was closed due to the pandemic.  Now they are reopening the school again, and are teaching in Hopkins, St. Paul and Oakdale.

Taichi is a great way to get moving and improve coordination at the same time. It has been used for years to stay in shape. The best way to begin is to come to class and join the fun. We start slow and basic with breathing techniques and body mechanics, and progress through to more complex movements of the complete form.
